Hey guys, this week will be a themed week, I haven’t done that for a while now and I really wanted to do an International Week but couldn’t get around it, anyway, this week is officially “The International Week” and first in line is this band from Finland, they call themselves The Rasmus, they have been around for a while now started back in 1994 in Helsinki while still in grade school, since then they have released seven studio albums, some of them went platinum.
The song I’m recommending is Livin’ In A World Without You first single from their latest album Black Roses. Different people had different comprehension of this song some thought it’s about the past relationship of the lead vocalist which went sour due to his extensive touring and band commitments, while some think this is about his struggle with alcoholism, the band themselves said this about the song
“Livin' In A World Without You was the last song we wrote for the album and this song kind of changed the whole chorus of the album because it's very different from the other songs, it's a more electronic vibe than a normal rock song and also this song influenced the other songs in the final mixing of the album. The lyrics are about something horrible that happened in the world at the time we were writing the song, but I really don't wanna be talking about it too much, I want people to find their own meanings from the lyric when they listen to it.”
I like the late 80s early 90s feel of the song, it has all the ingredients of a hook heavy, catchy pop rock song, the video is also not too shabby, here you go
