Moving along with hook heavy, crunching guitars, today’s recommendation comes from Oklahoma City, OK by the band Hinder. Austin Winkler, band's lead vocalist used to sing in an Oklahoma City cover band before he met drummer Cody Hanson and guitarist Joe Garvey at a college party and joined forces to make Hinder.
They have been compared to the likes of Aerosmith, Kiss and Guns N’ Roses and not only cause of their music style but also because of the wild “rockstar” lifestyle they lead, they are known to travel in tour busses filled with strippers and allegedly send out their scouts into the crowds at their concerts to hand out VIP passes to good looking women. Early on many compared their reckless abandon to Aerosmith of old and considered them to be a flash in the pan, but three albums (two being multi platinum so far) later, they are still here and rocking as hard as they wish.
The song I’m recommending, Get Stoned, comes from their first album Extreme Behavior, heavy on hooks with raw riffs and vocal harmonies, I love the gruff vocals, I think the song sounds a lot like something from the 80’s updated to the modern guitar sounds, here’s the song
