Today’s recommendation is again from down under though from a different region Mooloolaba, Australia to be exact by the band Newsboys. These guys have been around for a while, they started back in 1985 as The News but changed their name to Newsboys once they moved to USA to avoid conflict with Huey Lewis And The News.
They have released 14 studio albums, however they didn’t taste commercial success until their fourth album Not Ashamed. These guys are huge on the Christian Rock scene and that is in fact their bread and butter, they have belting out hits after hits in the Christian Rock / Christian Pop genre.
The song I’m recommending Stay Strong was one of the two new songs in their 2007 greatest hits compilation The Greatest Hits. The song is an uplifting message bearing good tides for the future encouraging the fallen that good things lie ahead if they persist and follow the good message. I love the intro piano piece, the gentle guitars the pace of the song and not to mention positive message of the song always lifts you up, it doesn’t matter if you are a believer or not.
