Emiliana Torrini - Gun

This week is turning out to be another International week as today’s recommendation comes from Kópavogur, Iceland by this amazing singer / songwriter Emiliana Torrini. She has been in the music business since the age of 17 after winning the song competition of junior colleges in Iceland.
You might not recognize her name but most of you must definitely have heard of her in the ending credits for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for which she sang the famous Gollum’s Song, she has also written songs for Kylie Minogue.
The song I’m recommending Gun, comes from her latest album Me And Armini, it's a dark song written from a gun's perspective about an unsuccessful man who finally catches his wife with another man in bed after knowing of the affair for a while, shoots the man in the face, and is now having regrets and the gun is now convincing the man to take his own life.
I fell in love with this song right away, the concept of this sweet melodic voice, delivering this dark, twisted tale is amazing, the composition devoid of any drums and lead guitars adds a devilish smile to the song, as if the gun is sporting a twisted smile while convincing the man to now take his own life, and need I say anything about the killer baseline, here’s the song
