The Heavy - How You Like Me Now

Today’s song is again from somewhere in England, as this band claims to be from Noid, England, but no such town exists, theory is that this is a contraction of No ID, anyhow the band’s name is The Heavy, if you like this song you should be thankful to Kia Motors as I found this song in the Kia Sorento ad last year, since then this song has appeared in countless shows and more notably throughout the film The Fighter and also in the movie Faster, I love the beginning guitar intro laden with horns but I can’t throw all the praise to these guys as they have sampled the intro from the song Let A Woman Be A Woman, Let A Man Be A Man by the band Dyke & the Blazers, even still I think the song is a great listen, the base line is genuinely good and vocals are also pretty good, the video is also interesting, here you go

I found quite a few very good live performances so I’m throwing three of them in here
Here they are live at the Letterman’s show, just so you know this song has been the only song in the entire history of the Letterman’s show for which an encore was requested by David Letterman himself, I think this is quite an achievement for a then little known indie band, here you go

Here they are live in KEXP studio

Here they are live in a concert

Still wanna know more about them here’s the link to their official website
If you like, there are quite a few remixed versions of this song also available on youtube.
Enjoy!!!
