Malcolm McLaren - About Her

Today’s song comes from the late Malcolm MacLaren, he was the manager of the Sex Pistols and the New York Dolls and was himself a solo artist. The song I’m recommending is About Her, I found this song in the Kill Bill 2 soundtrack, if you have seen that movie it was played when Uma Therman’s character finds out about her daughter whom she presumed dead. I love this song, it uses the initial verse from Bessie Smith’s St. Louis Blues, and fused it with The Zombies song She’s Not There, I love the way he picked up the Blues sound of Bessie Smith and mixed it with the Pop sound of The Zombies and created this melancholic sound which is just awesome.
