Today’s song comes from London, UK, by the band Reactor from their album Emotional Pornography, most of you should remember this song from one of the Axe deodorant commercials that came out way back in the early 2000s. If you can look beyond the sexual connotation, this song is a very well composed song, the vocals are perfect to insinuate the message of the song and the addition of eastern instruments add an exotic quality to the song they in fact themselves call out their music style in the following words
“Reactor's music is an exotic and passionate journey through human emotion. Imagine a band with the power of Muse and the depth of Pink Floyd, injected with a thrilling Indian edge. Classic songwriting, awesome band - the sound of the future”
Listening closely I could hear a Tabla, a Harmonium, a Shehnai near the crescendo of the song and also some Sitar in between the strumming, I love this song, the video of this song is an added bonus, for some reason they made two videos of the same song and that also some five or so years apart, I guess they decided the first video does not have enough sexual innuendos in it and went on to make a new even more provocative video, here’s the first one
